Who are we?

1304bikes is a collectively-run non-profit organization committed to getting discarded bikes repaired, refurbished, and into the hands of those in the community who need them.

The 1304bikes mission:

• To own and/or operate as owner or lessee or in other capacity no-cost bicycle repair facilities for the benefit of the general community.
• To receive donated bicycles and related goods for the purpose of assisting the community to repair and refurbish said bicycles at no or low cost. This may include, but is not limited to, distributions made in cooperation with organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
• To educate and assist community members in the repair, maintenance, and use of bicycles.
• To promote bicycling as an integral part of livable and sustainable communities, thereby contributing to the overall health and well being of the community.

Our tenets:

• Zero membership fee. Our aim is to remain completely accessible to all members of the local community.
• Access to an extensive set of professional-quality bicycle tools.
• Keep usable stuff out of the landfills.
• Encourage a safe and healthful lifestyle in our community.

1304 bikes is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
